Malaysian singer-songwriter Dior Da Ying held her “Kampung Girl Ordinary Person” concert at Resorts World Genting in December 2025, and in the following six months, toured Sarawak, Singapore, Taipei, and Bali, Indonesia. Tickets for the 5 stops and 6 shows of her domestic and overseas tour sold out instantly, not only demonstrating her immense popularity but also setting a new record for emerging ticket sales achievements among the new generation of Mandopop singers in Malaysia.
This year on June 27, she will bring the “Kampung Girl Ordinary Person” tour to the Penang International Sports Arena, continuing to tell her authentic life story of journeying from a small town to the world stage through music. As the 6th stop of the tour, Penang carries special meaning for Da Ying, as it was where she officially began her music career in 2020. Now, returning to this important starting point of her dreams after 6 years, the show will bear even more warmth and familiarity.
Since making her debut with the single “Love Yourself Deeper,” Da Ying has continued to touch hearts with her delicate and sincere songwriting, successively releasing works such as “How Have You Been Lately?”, “If That Call Went Through,” “Someday We'll Meet Again,” “Different Flowering Seasons,” “Awake for Only Ten Thousand Days,” and “Save Love.” Among them, “Divorce in the Republic of Ghana” was ranked No. 2 in Spotify’s 2024 “Most-Streamed Global Chinese Pop Songs.” “If That Call Went Through” also won acclaim as the “Contemporary Pop Playlist” at the 2024 Qishui Music × Douyin ‘See the Music Project • Annual Celebration,’ marking bright music achievements.

With her authentic emotions and solid songwriting capabilities, Da Ying was specially invited by Spotify in June 2025 to be the EQUAL brand ambassador for Malaysia and Singapore, and appeared on the giant LED screen in Times Square, New York, to voice support for women's equality. According to the latest 2025 Spotify Wrapped data, her cumulative stream count surpassed 70.4 million plays, attracting 4.2 million listeners from 183 countries, reaffirming her international potential and influence. This year, thanks to her immense popularity, she was also selected as one of the Top 100 Artists of the Year at the 21st KKBOX Music Awards.

Last December, she held her first large-scale solo concert at Genting. “Kampung Girl Ordinary Person” was not only Dior Da Ying’s heartfelt tribute to her late mother, but also a major milestone in her realization of her dreams. She hopes that through music she can honestly present her truest self, turning the journey and original aspiration she carried from her small town to center stage into a series of touching songs to encourage every ordinary but hard-working person. She expressed: “I have always believed that the most moving stories come from the most ordinary people, and that is exactly what ‘Kampung Girl Ordinary Person’ wishes to convey.”
