"Forever Xiao Qian" Joey Wong shared on Mother’s Day about how she entered the entertainment industry. Surprisingly, it was because her mother had star dreams. Her mom would take her, when she was just in the second grade, to auditions everywhere. She said that from a young age she had no interest in the entertainment industry and didn’t want to act, but all the family’s hopes were pinned on her instead of her two brothers. Her mother would rather spend a whole week’s grocery money just to sign her up and get her a chance at an audition. She said she was very wooden as a child, not moving at all during auditions, while her anxious mother on the side would give her meaningful looks urging her to "move, move!" Yet she still messed up the audition opportunity. On the way home, her mother kept tapping her on the head, complaining that a week’s grocery money had been wasted, causing her to endure tremendous pressure from a young age.
Joey Wong endured the repeated pressure of auditions throughout her childhood, often wondering why her life was so hard. She had many disagreements with her mother when she was younger, but she continued down the path her mother set for her. Once she left the entertainment industry and began a reclusive life in Vancouver, Canada, she finally had time for self-reflection. Starting from childhood memories, she wondered why she came into this world and what paths awaited after reaching the peak. She began to grow from her life experiences and gradually learned that people should not be overly attached to things, becoming more tolerant and understanding toward everything.
