●Xi Jinping: China has sincerity and principles
Xi Jinping welcomed Trump to visit China again, and Trump expressed sincere thanks. The two leaders agreed that both teams should continue to implement the Geneva consensus and hold a new round of talks as soon as possible.
Xi pointed out that steering the course of the great ship of US-China relations requires us to set a proper direction, especially to eliminate various disturbances or even sabotage, which is particularly important. Based on the US's proposal, economic and trade heads from both countries held talks in Geneva, taking a significant step towards resolving economic and trade issues through dialogue and consultation. This was widely welcomed by both countries and the international community and demonstrates that dialogue and cooperation are the only correct choices. Both parties should make good use of the established economic and trade consultation mechanism, uphold an attitude of equality, respect each other's concerns, and strive for a win-win result. China is sincere in this regard while also having principles.
Xi said that Chinese people always follow through on their words. Having reached a consensus, both sides should abide by it. After the Geneva talks, China implemented the agreement seriously and earnestly. The US should view the progress objectively and lift negative measures imposed on China. Both sides should enhance exchanges in diplomacy, trade, military, law enforcement, and other fields, increase consensus, reduce misunderstandings, and strengthen cooperation.
