About to Embrace Fatherhood: Chen Zeyao Boldly Supports His Wife

Malaysian artist Chen Zeyao (Ah Zhe) has been receiving a stream of good news recently. Not only is he set to welcome a new identity as a 'dad' this December, but he has also adopted a brand-new buzz cut look in preparation for a role in director Zhou Qingyuan’s new movie.

Ah Zhe is about to be promoted to 'dad' at the beginning of December. Since finding out that his wife Yun Meixin was pregnant, he has already arranged his work schedule for the second half of this year, hoping to accompany his wife throughout and be by her side until the baby is born. Now that he knows the baby's gender, he joked that he will not hold any gender reveal party, 'Let’s just look forward to the baby’s arrival in December together!' He said that at this stage, apart from working hard to earn money for baby formula, he acts as his baby’s exclusive DJ every day, preparing different soothing music for the child.

Mentioning the changes in his wife since getting pregnant, he expressed his gratitude that the baby hasn’t caused her much discomfort. A running enthusiast, Yun Meixin has kept up her running habit during pregnancy, but unexpectedly, this drew some comments online claiming that pregnant women shouldn’t do such intense exercise. In response, Ah Zhe boldly said: 'We only listen to the doctor!'

On Monday morning, Ah Zhe attended the launch event for McDonald's Malaysia (McDonald’s Malaysia) mini drama series’ latest work, Senyuman, with his new buzz cut. He revealed that the look was created for his character in Malaysian director Zhou Qingyuan’s new film, Terbang.

Senyuman co-stars Chen Zeyao with popular singer and actress Nabila Razali, while renowned actor Lim Jianwen will make a surprise appearance in the series. The plot follows a characterful and introverted young man Ming (played by Chen Zeyao) and his colleague June (played by Nabila).

Although Lim Jianwen, who plays Ah Zhe’s younger brother in the mini drama, doesn't have many scenes, he gave his all in preparing. As for Nabila, who is participating in a mini drama for the first time, she secretly told jokes on set to enhance the group’s chemistry. The full series of 7 episodes of Senyuman will premiere at 8 PM on August 7, with new episodes released daily on McDonald’s Malaysia’s social media platforms and YouTube channel.
