(Report from Bandar Seri Begawan on the 27th) The Public Works Department reminds residents of Brunei-Muara District that various regions are experiencing water supply interruptions and low pressure issues.
The department has found increased organic content and discoloration in the water quality at the Tutong River raw water intake point, affecting the production of clean water and consequently impacting the main reservoir water levels.
The affected areas include:
-Mukim Berakas ‘A’: Portions of Kg Lambak ‘A’ and ‘B’.
-Mukim Berakas ‘B’: RPN Lambak Kanan, Kg Madang, Kg Manggis 2.
-Mukim Gadong ‘A’: RPN Rimba, Kg Rimba 1 & 2, STKRJ Rimba, STKRJ Kg Tungku, Kg Katok A.
-Mukim Kota Batu: Kg Subok, Kg Belimbing, Kg Pintu Malim, Kg Sungai Lampai, Kg Kota Batu, Kg Pelambayan, Kg Dato Gandi, Kg Sungai Matan, Kg Serdang, Kg Sungai Belukut.
-Mukim Gadong ‘B’: Kg Kiarong, Kg Kiulap, and Kg Beribi.
-Mukim Pengkalan Batu: Kg Bebatik, Kg Batong, Kg Panchor Murai, Kg Masin, Kg Pengkalan Batu, Kg Junjongan, Kg Wasan, Kg Limau Manis, Kg Bebuloh, Kg Kuala Lurah.
-Mukim Lumapas: Kg Lumapas ‘A’ and ‘B’, Kg Lupak Luas, Kg Tarap Bau, Kg Putat, Kg Kasat.
– Mukim Kilanas: Kg Telanai, Kg Medewa, Kg Bunut, Kg Tasek Merimbun, Kg Kilanas, Kg Tanjong Bunut, Kg Bengkurong, Kg Sinarubai, Kg Burong Lepas.
To mitigate the impact, the department has initiated standard operating procedures and developed recovery strategies to restore normal water supply as soon as possible.
During this period, residents are urged to conserve water and can call the Darussalam hotline 123 to request water tanker services.
