Miri Clan Youth Associations Host Grand Gathering; Over 300 Youths Unite for Networking and Fellowship

(Miri, 29th) – To foster interaction and connections among young people of various clans in Miri, the city’s clan youth associations jointly organized a “Grand Youth Gathering” last night at the Miri Tai-Pu Clan Association Hall, attracting over 300 enthusiastic youths from various organizations to come together and celebrate.

In addition to the participation of each clan youth association from Miri, the event also cordially invited youth wings from various clan and surname associations to join. The platform aims to strengthen interaction among youth organizations, expand their networks, and further camaraderie and collaboration as they celebrate the Lunar New Year.

The program was lively and diverse. Each clan youth association carefully prepared a series of games and entertainment segments, enabling attending youths to interact and connect in a fun and relaxed setting. There were also dragon and lion dance performances, adding to the strong festive ambiance. In addition, food was served to all guests, so everyone could gather and enjoy delicious dishes together.

The participating youth associations from Miri included the Ho-Po Clan Association Youth Wing, Tai-Pu Clan Association Youth Wing, Hakka Association Youth Wing, Guang Hui Zhao Association Youth Wing, Zhao’an Association Youth Wing, Hainan Association Youth Wing, Xing’an Association Youth Wing, Fuzhou Association Youth Wing, and the Teochew Association Youth Wing.

In his speech, organizing committee representative Xie Jia Hong warmly welcomed everyone on behalf of the Miri Clan Youth Associations’ Organizing Committee to the 2026 Grand Youth Gathering.

He noted that although the Lunar New Year had already passed more than a month ago, due to various reasons, this “New Year reunion” for youths was held a little later. However, the delay did not dampen anyone’s passion, and in fact made the event even more precious.

He pointed out that the first Grand Youth Gathering was successfully held two years ago, and now, all nine youth associations have once again joined forces to bring this event to fruition, pooling together collective efforts and intentions to make the gathering a reality.

He emphasized that the original intention of organizing such a gathering was to create a platform for young people to interact—allowing those who rarely meet in daily life to get acquainted, engage in deeper exchanges, build connections, and broaden their horizons.

In addition, he mentioned that beyond the spectacular performances, several dedicated networking areas were set up at the venue, including food trucks, cuisine stalls, banking organizations, anti-scam sharing by youths, and information platforms for entrepreneurial-minded youths to exchange ideas and seek advice.

He hoped that everyone would enjoy not only the entertainment in the relaxed atmosphere, but also gain something valuable, further enhancing interaction and cooperation among the various clan youth associations.
