Due to the impact of super typhoon 'Hagupit', Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM) announced on Wednesday (September 24) that power supply has been suspended in low-lying areas affected by water levels rising to between 1 and 1.5 meters.
According to Macau 'Power News', CEM stated that in order to ensure public safety and protect power supply facilities, power supply to the affected areas— including St. Anthony’s Parish (S. Tiago), Lower Praya Street, Barra, and the area around São Lázaro—has been suspended. Power will be restored as soon as possible after water subsides.
Previously, the Macau Water Supply Company also reminded property management entities of high-rise buildings in the relevant areas to fill their rooftop water tanks as much as possible before the power suspension, and reminded residents to prepare an adequate supply of drinking water and daily hygiene water in advance.
