Sarawak Chinese Literary Anthology Call for Submissions

(Miri, 12th) The Sarawak Joint Committee of the Malaysian Chinese Writers Association has resolved to publish the “2020-2026 Sarawak Chinese Literary Anthology” in August or September this year and is currently collecting submissions from Sarawak writers.
This anthology accepts essays, poetry, and fiction (flash fiction, microfiction, or short stories).
The chief editor of the anthology is the Committee Chairman, Mr. Hsu Jing Ping, with separate editorial boards for essays, poetry, and fiction, responsible for editing and reviewing submissions.
Submission guidelines are as follows:
1. Eligibility: Priority will be given to works by MCWA Joint Committee members, but submissions from Sarawak writers and Malaysian citizens who have resided in Sarawak for at least one year are welcome. The editorial board reserves the final right of selection.
2. Submission deadline: April 30, 2026.
3. Topics are open. Each person may submit works totaling around 5 pages (A5 size: 14.8cm x 21cm).
4. Works must be created in 2020 or later. Previously published or award-winning works are accepted, but any copyright issues must be clarified and declared in advance by the author.
5. Submissions must state the year of creation. Content must not involve sensitive political, racial, or religious topics. Personal attacks, flattery, advertisements, or forewords/afterwords are not accepted.
6. Authors bear full responsibility for their work; the viewpoints and arguments presented do not represent the stance of the editorial committee.
7. The editorial board reserves the right to amend or correct typographical errors. If you do not agree to this, please state so in advance.
8. All manuscripts must be typed and submitted in Simplified Chinese (font: Song, size 12) as an attachment in a single email to the Sarawak Joint Committee’s email address: sarawakzuoxie@gmail.com . Please title your email “Sarawak Chinese Anthology—Genre”.
9. Submissions must include the author's real name in both Chinese and English, identity card number, mobile number, email address, mailing address, and a brief biography (not exceeding 150 words) along with a recent photo.
10. Once accepted and published, the copyright will be co-owned by both the committee and the author. The committee reserves the right to publish the work on its own electronic platforms or other print and electronic media, with shared copyright ownership.
11. Due to limited resources, no remuneration will be paid for submissions. Each author will receive one complimentary copy of the published book as a token.
