The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the 4th that, over the past night, Russian forces used land-based 'Kinzhal' hypersonic missiles as well as other long-range precision-guided weapons and long-range attack drones to carry out large-scale strikes against Ukrainian drone research and production enterprises, military airports, oil refineries, and other targets.

The announcement stated that from June 28 to July 3, Russian forces launched five large-scale air strikes against Ukraine, destroying facilities of Ukraine's military-industrial complex and refineries, command and control systems, radar stations, ammunition and supplies warehouses, drone production workshops, drone storage sites, as well as temporary deployments of Ukrainian troops.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Force pointed out on the 4th that, from the night of the 3rd to the early morning of the 4th, Russian forces carried out a large-scale air strike on Ukraine using 539 drones and 11 missiles, with Kyiv being the main direction of attack.

This is the second escalation in scale by Russia in air strikes since the large-scale air attack by Russian forces on June 29. This also marks the latest action by Russian forces following the phone call between U.S. President Trump and Russian President Putin.

During the call, Putin emphasized that Russia will achieve its established goals in Ukraine, namely to eliminate the 'well-known root causes' that led to the current situation and intense confrontation.
