Published at Jun 10, 2026 02:17 pm
The US Central Command issued a statement on the 9th, stating that it has completed self-defense strikes against Iran. This strike was in response to a US military helicopter being shot down on the 8th.

The statement indicated that, under orders from the supreme commander of the armed forces, Central Command forces began self-defense strikes against Iran at 5:00 PM Eastern US time on the 9th (12:30 AM on the 10th Tehran time).

The statement said that US Air Force and Navy aircraft precisely struck Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and surveillance radars located near the Strait of Hormuz, "as a proportional response to recent attacks on US troops and international merchant vessels traversing regional waters."

The US military conducted at least three rounds of airstrikes. Explosions were reported in Qeshm of Iran's Hormozgan Province, the southern port of Bandar Abbas, Sirik, and other locations.

Striking 20 Targets in Iran

Fox News reported on the 9th, quoting a senior US official, that the US military struck 20 targets inside Iran that day.

The official stated that although Central Command announced the end of the US military's strikes, the situation remains dynamic. If Iran retaliates, the US military is prepared to respond.

Iran Intensely Strikes US Bases in the Middle East

The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of Iran's Armed Forces issued a statement on the 10th, declaring that Iran has fiercely struck US military bases in the Middle East.

The statement from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters stated that, in response to the US military's invasion of southern Iran under the pretext of a US helicopter crash, Iranian forces and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps launched intense strikes on US bases in the Middle East.\

The statement warned that if the US military infringes on Iran again, Iran will launch even fiercer and broader strikes against predetermined targets in the Middle East.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps also issued a statement that day, saying it launched drone attacks on US Fifth Fleet facilities in Bahrain.

The Public Relations Department of the IRGC indicated that in the early hours of the day, the US attacked multiple locations in Iran under a false pretext, causing damage to a telecommunications tower in Sirik and destroying two reservoirs. In response to the enemy's malicious actions, the IRGC launched drone attacks on US Fifth Fleet facilities in Bahrain.

The statement warned that if hostile actions continue, "even harsher counterattacks are imminent."

Destruction of US Base F-35 Hangar

The IRGC also noted that Iran intercepted and destroyed an MQ-9 "Reaper" drone in Bushehr Province and "struck and destroyed" four key targets at the US military base in Azraq, Jordan—including the command and control center and an F-35 fighter jet hangar.

Firing At Least Four Missiles at Three Countries

According to US media reports on the 9th, Iran launched at least four missiles and several drones at US military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.

The Jordanian Armed Forces later responded that they intercepted and shot down five missiles launched by Iran toward Azraq.
