Taiwan’s “local king” Jacky Wu (Wu Zongxian) finally performed in Taipei again after 8 years, holding the “2026 Stinky Men Tour Concert” Taipei leg at TICC on the 28th. His former protégé Jay Chou (Jay) also surprised him with a flower basket, writing: “Wishing you a successful concert. I’m curious which of my songs you’ll sing, haha.” The relationship between the two seems to have progressed greatly.
When asked about rumors of a rift between them, Wu used a movie metaphor to describe their relationship: “I appreciate you, love you so much,” dismissing outside doubts about a fallout.
Back then, Wu suffered investment losses and sold his “Alpha Music” label, which led to rumors that Jay Chou felt betrayed and that their mentor-student relationship changed. Responding to questions about their feelings, Wu compared their situation to Andy Lau and Deanie Ip’s film “A Simple Life”, saying Deanie Ip’s character sold herself to raise Lau’s character into a judge. Wu revealed he devoted all his efforts to Jay Chou: “I love Jay so much. In my life, I only asked you to do one thing, and you did it! Jay is extremely filial, that’s enough—I truly appreciate you.” On site, he also sang “Three Days, Three Nights”, a song created together with Jay Chou, getting so emotional that he choked up several times.
