The Chinese couple who were alleged to have lost control of their emotions on a plane and at the airport while leaving Malaysia after a honeymoon will be charged with disturbance on Friday (14th)!
Ampang Selangor Kuala Lumpur International Airport Police District Deputy Chief Inspector Aibani confirmed on Thursday evening that the couple will face charges under Criminal Code Section 294(a) (obscene acts intended to disturb others in a public place) in the Sepang court on Friday.
According to a statement he made on Thursday afternoon, the police received a report from AirAsia security personnel at 1:20 PM on Sunday (9th), claiming that a foreign woman engaged in inappropriate behavior on a flight to Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport in China, disturbing other passengers.
He stated that the woman and her partner were subsequently removed from the plane and taken to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 police station for questioning. However, they refused to cooperate and behaved inappropriately and emotionally, so health officials were called to the scene and sedatives were administered to them.
He pointed out that the couple was taken to the Serdang Hospital for treatment, and their urine tests confirmed that they were not under the influence of hallucinogens.
“They received treatment in the ward, and the police only recorded preliminary statements from them without detaining them.”
“According to the hospital report on Wednesday (12th), the couple has no mental issues, and the police detained them at 7:30 PM on the same day.”
According to earlier reports, their family members were worried when they did not see them at the airport in Nanjing to pick them up, and both of their phones were turned off. A person claiming to be the man's brother issued a missing persons notice to Malaysian citizens through Xiaohongshu.
Reports also indicated that some netizens witnessed disturbances at the airport and on the plane.
