(Miri, 11th) The Malaysian Road Transport Department conducted an 'Ops Patuh' enforcement operation in the city on Tuesday (March 10), seizing a total of three vehicles, one of which was a luxury car.
The vehicles seized by the Miri division enforcement officers were a Chrysler 300, a Perodua Axia, and a Perodua Bezza. The reason for seizure was that these vehicles’ Motor Vehicle Licenses (LKM) had expired and they lacked valid insurance coverage.
This enforcement action was carried out through city patrols and surveillance, with the operation personally overseen by the Director of the Road Transport Department, Norhizan Jili, to ensure effective law enforcement.
During the operation, enforcement officers inspected a total of 341 vehicles of various types.
Multiple violations were discovered during the inspections, including driving without a valid license, not wearing seat belts, using mobile phones while driving, and technical issues with the vehicles.
The authorities have issued violation notices to the offenders.
The Road Transport Department stated that it will continue to strengthen enforcement actions and will not compromise with any violators of traffic laws.
The authorities also remind the public to observe traffic regulations to ensure the safety of all road users.
