A passenger at Hangzhou East Railway Station in China suddenly jumped onto the tracks, and an incoming train was unable to brake in time and collided with the individual. The passenger has been sent to the hospital for treatment.
On Saturday night (July 5), Hangzhou Railway Station posted an official announcement on Weibo, stating that at around 4:34 pm that day, as train G7545 was approaching platform 25 of Hangzhou East Station, a passenger on the platform suddenly jumped onto the tracks. The train immediately initiated emergency braking, but due to the short distance, was unable to stop in time and collided with the passenger.
The post stated that station staff immediately contacted the 120 emergency center and arranged for the passenger to receive medical treatment. As a result of this incident, train G7545 was delayed and resumed operation at 5:19 pm.
Currently, relevant authorities have launched an investigation.
According to media reports from Tide News and Red Star News quoting eyewitnesses, as train G7545 was arriving at Hangzhou East Railway Station, someone suddenly jumped from the platform onto the tracks, causing the train to make an emergency stop before it had fully arrived at the station, accompanied by several seconds of noise. Witnesses said the train was originally scheduled to stop at the station for only a few minutes, but ended up being delayed by more than 40 minutes. During this time, attendants walked up and down the train, comforting passengers and answering questions.
