Iran Attacks Kuwait; Airport Radar Hit

Published at Jun 12, 2026 03:11 pm
On the 11th, Iran launched an airstrike on Kuwait, forcing the temporary closure of its airspace. Kuwaiti authorities stated that the attack damaged the airport radar and resulted in injuries.

This is the second time in just over a week that Iran has attacked Kuwait’s only international airport. The drone attack on the 3rd of this month killed an Indian national and injured 63 others.

In a letter to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Kuwait’s civil aviation authority stated that this latest attack caused injuries and led to serious damage and losses to radar facilities, equipment, and the air traffic control system.

Nevertheless, after Iran’s latest attack led to a brief closure of the airspace, Kuwait has reopened its airspace for use by civilian flights.
