American actress Hayden Panettiere, who starred in popular TV series such as 'Heroes,' 'Hart of Dixie,' and the 'Scream' movie series, passed away suddenly at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 36—just four days shy of her 37th birthday.
According to the latest information released by the Greenville County Coroner's Office, Hayden's autopsy has been completed, and officials have confirmed that no external trauma was found on her body causing her death. However, the coroner emphasized that additional tests are still required before formally confirming the final cause and manner of death.
The incident occurred at around 1:51 pm local time on Sunday (the 16th), after police received a 911 report. Rescue personnel quickly arrived at the scene and found that Hayden was already in cardiac arrest. The emergency team immediately performed Advanced Cardiac Life Support, but unfortunately rescue efforts were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at 2:32 pm. Preliminary police investigation indicated that there were no suspicious circumstances or signs of foul play at the scene.
911 dispatch recordings obtained by the media revealed the use of terms such as 'overdose' and 'cardiac arrest' during the process. According to TMZ, drugs able to reverse opioid overdoses, namely Narcan, as well as injection devices, were found at the scene. However, authorities stressed that it is currently unclear who the Narcan was administered to, nor can overdose be considered the confirmed cause of death. Everything remains pending toxicology and further test results.
