(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) – The Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) celebrated the 2025 World Pharmacists Day yesterday at the Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC).
Healthcare professionals, related parties, and invited guests gathered to discuss the important role of pharmacists in promoting health and well-being.
This event was organized by the JPMC Pharmacy Department with the theme 'Think Health, Think Pharmacists.'
Minister of Health Dato Isham, who is also the Chairman and Executive Director of JPMC, attended the event.
The event began with a prayer, followed by welcoming remarks from Stephanie Lee, Manager of the JPMC Pharmacy Department.
She stated that being a pharmacist is more than just a profession; it also carries a commitment to health and well-being.
'Our pharmacy staff work tirelessly every day, often quietly behind the scenes, to ensure the smooth running of medical services. Behind every medication you receive, there is a dedicated professional team who carefully prepare and check, ensuring each patient's safety, accuracy, and care.'
'When we think of pharmacies, we must look beyond the image of drugs and prescriptions. We need to think about health, prevention, and care. Pharmacists are educators and consultants who guide us on our health journey with empathy and expertise.'
She further added that in the face of healthcare challenges, this task is often an invisible workforce, serving as the backbone of quality healthcare, empowering the community to take charge of their own health.
World Pharmacists Day reminds us of the invaluable contribution pharmacists and pharmacy teams make in ensuring everyone has access to safe, effective, and accessible healthcare.
JPMC remains committed to supporting the pharmacy sector and fostering continuous improvement in patient treatment outcomes.
