The renowned Swiss watch brand Rolex has officially introduced its official pre-owned watch program to the mainland China market.

According to reports from Yicai and Sina Finance, last Tuesday (January 6), Rolex announced on its official WeChat public account that the first store in mainland China to offer the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned program is the Rolex Nanjing Deji Plaza Boutique.

At the end of 2022, Rolex officially launched the Certified Pre-Owned program, authorizing official brand partner retailers to sell pre-owned Rolex watches that have been authentically certified and come with a brand new two-year international warranty card. The program initially debuted at designated stores in six countries: Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, Denmark, and the United Kingdom, and has since gradually expanded to other countries and regions around the globe.

According to data from global pre-owned watch trading platform WatchCharts, sales under the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned program exceeded 500 million USD (2.03 billion MYR) last year.

Rolex has stated that the Certified Pre-Owned program allows consumers to purchase pre-owned watches that have been certified by the brand and come with a warranty, aiming to add value to the circulation of pre-owned Rolex watches in the market.

According to reports, popular Rolex models are in short supply, such as the stainless-steel Daytona and Submariner, which are often out of stock at boutiques. Consumers have to wait for long periods or pay significantly above retail prices on the secondary market, where issues such as authenticity and quality inconsistency remain persistent challenges.
