The Perodua Bezza, Malaysia’s best-selling second national car, has now been chosen as the patrol vehicle by the police in Papua New Guinea, Oceania.
According to a video posted by netizen @brittany.jane93 on TikTok, the footage shows a fleet of Bezza sedans with police markings and equipped with siren lights, driving out from a Perodua dealership in Port Moresby.
The uploader stated that these are Bezza police vehicles used by the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary.
Local netizens feel extremely proud and excited that a national car has broken into the overseas market.
"From ride-hailing to patrol cars, this Bezza truly does it all!" said one netizen. A user on X platform wrote this when sharing photos of the vehicles.
It is understood that the Bezza model adopted by the Papua New Guinea police is the export version produced by Perodua specifically for markets outside Southeast Asia, reportedly chosen for its fuel efficiency, high durability, and low maintenance cost.
