The live-fire Han Kuang No. 42 Exercise will commence on August 5. On Tuesday, Taiwan President Lai Ching-te stated that the primary objective of the nation’s security strategy is to maintain the current peaceful and stable status of the Taiwan Strait. No matter whether facing gray-zone harassment or combat readiness training, all units of the Taiwanese military must share information and support each other. He also wished the exercise complete success.
Lai Ching-te recently attended the “Commissioning Ceremony of the Navy’s Danjiang Corvette” in Kaohsiung, and recorded a film aboard the Danjiang for the “Special Project on Military Morale Education”, wishing the Danjiang a safe voyage and successful missions, and also wishing complete success to the Han Kuang No. 42 Exercise. The program was broadcast this morning.
He mentioned that with the formal commissioning of the Danjiang, he wanted to thank all officers and soldiers who participated in its testing and training. Since taking over this new ship, everyone has had to become familiar with new weapons and equipment, and build teamwork through repeated training, so as to enable the ship to fully realize its combat capability.
Lai Ching-te emphasized that the government will continue to promote society-wide defense resilience, uniting the entire population’s strength to enhance the nation’s ability to respond to hybrid risks and threats, ensuring that systems such as medical care, transportation, energy, and communications remain operational, and providing stable support for the armed forces.
