Trump's Approval Rating Drops to Lowest Since Return to White House, Only 36%

Published at Mar 25, 2026 03:49 pm
Reuters and Ipsos Group released a poll on the 24th showing that U.S. President Trump's approval rating fell from 40% last week to 36%, the lowest level since his return to the White House.

This four-day poll concluded on the 23rd.

According to Reuters, the main reasons for the drop in Trump's approval rating are surging fuel prices and widespread public dissatisfaction with his military action against Iran.

According to the poll results, since the end of February when the U.S. and Israel launched military action against Iran, gasoline prices have risen significantly, and Americans' rating of Trump's handling of the cost of living has markedly worsened, with only 25% of respondents approving of his handling of cost of living issues.

On the issue of military action against Iran, the proportion of respondents disapproving of U.S. strikes on Iran rose to 61%, up from 59% last week.

According to reports, this national online survey collected feedback from 1,272 American adults, with a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

Preferring Iran's Credibility Over Trump's, Former CIA Chief Says

On a TV show aired on the 23rd, former CIA Director John Brennan openly stated that, compared to U.S. President Trump, he would rather trust Iran regarding the situation of U.S.-Iran negotiations.

On the program of U.S. MS Now News Channel, the host asked guest Brennan to help clarify the confusion surrounding Trump’s statements about U.S.-Iran negotiations. Brennan said: "I would rather believe Iran than our own president."

Brennan pointed out that even when repeatedly confronted by facts, Trump would never admit the truth.

He commented: "Obviously, he (Trump) is now scrambling, trying to get out of the mess he created himself."
