The proposal calls for strengthening multilateralism and international cooperation, holding thematic discussions and interactive dialogues at the Human Rights Council, supporting the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in strengthening work related to economic, social and cultural rights, and fully leveraging the role of the United Nations Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Knowledge Center platform established under the main resolution proposed by China, so as to better provide technical assistance and capacity building to countries in need.
Developing countries spoke one after another, stating that the resolution reflects the true needs of the broad masses of people, and powerfully responds to the strong call from developing countries for increased investment in economic, social and cultural rights. All parties, including the European Union, expressed appreciation for the resolution. After the resolution's adoption, many countries and the OHCHR congratulated China's Permanent Mission, praising China's leading role in the field of economic, social and cultural rights.
