(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) According to a statement issued by the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) under the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, Ministry of Finance and Economy, certain petrol stations in the three main regions will be temporarily closed in November 2025 for inspection and study of fuel pump meters.
The SDT unit stated that the inspections will perform accuracy testing on the fuel pump meters at petrol stations. This measure is in accordance with the requirements of the Weights and Measures Act (Chapter 151) of 1983, which stipulates that all measuring instruments used in commercial trade must be verified and registered by the SDT unit.
The SDT unit explained that to ensure public safety and the health of staff, the inspection work will be scheduled between 9:00am and the time inspections are completed, with each inspection expected to last about two hours. This is a routine annual inspection, conducted three times a year.
The following is the temporary closure schedule for petrol stations undergoing meter accuracy inspections in November 2025:
