Yesterday was the romantic day of “520,” symbolizing “I love you.” On this day, “Jay Chou” released the sweet song MV for “July Aurora,” and also happily shared that he has fulfilled his dream of collecting a masterpiece painting by the French Fauvist artist Henri Matisse.
In addition to giving fans the new “July Aurora” MV as a gift, Jay Chou also gave himself an incredibly precious present—finally acquiring Matisse’s 1924 oil painting masterpiece “The Morning Session.” It is estimated he obtained the painting for 20 million USD (around 79.4 million MYR).
As for the inspiration for “July Aurora,” Jay Chou shared that two years ago he personally drove his wife Hannah Quinlivan and their children on a trip, where they were lucky enough to witness the shocking scene of a pink aurora and a brilliant meteor simultaneously streaking across the night sky. Deeply moved, he wrote on social media: “If I don’t write a song for this moment, it just wouldn’t feel right! Right?” And he kept his word, turning those feelings into music. He composed the song himself, with lyrics by his longtime partner Vincent Fang. About the song, Vincent Fang said: “It’s very rare and special to see auroras in July, just like it’s a rare blessing to find precious love! ‘July Aurora’ represents the sweetness and all the beauty in love.”
