43-year-old Hong Kong actress Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) recently announced her remarriage, tying the knot with her fitness trainer boyfriend, Elvis, who is 10 years her junior. In addition to her love life attracting attention, her past remarks about ‘proactively planning for life’ have also resurfaced and are again being discussed by netizens.
Previously on the Chinese show “Because We Are Friends”, Ah Sa openly shared her views on life and death as well as her personal planning. She revealed that her mother taught her from a young age to always prepare for both the best and the worst in any situation, so she actually made her will at an early age. She candidly admitted, “My will has already been written, I’ve also chosen my funeral photo, and I update it every five years.” Her startling admission left the on-site guests in shock, and even her long-time friend Mani Fok couldn’t help but tease her for being “too pessimistic.”
Ah Sa explained that the reason she arranged these things early wasn’t due to negativity, but rather because she doesn’t want her family and friends to have to worry about all sorts of details after she’s gone. She joked that she specifically picked a colorful, happy photo of herself as her funeral portrait: “I’m afraid you all would choose some tragic, black-and-white photo, so I just picked one myself!”
In addition to sparking discussion over her life planning, Ah Sa’s astonishing financial power has also become a focal point. For years, she’s been regarded as a “Property Queen” of the Hong Kong entertainment industry, currently owning five properties, including Redhill Peninsula, The Waterfront, Well On Garden, Mayfair Villas, and the luxury home on Stubbs Road, Mid-levels East, which she currently shares with her husband.
According to estimates from Hong Kong media, Charlene Choi’s total property holdings have surpassed HK$100 million (approximately RM50.68 million), with a monthly rental income alone reaching as high as HK$200,000 (approximately RM100,000), reflecting her impressive financial strength.
