The school received Ambassador Xiao and his party at the "Wen Hui Hall". To begin, fourth and fifth grade students dressed in Hanfu recited the poem "Lu Ming" from the Classic of Poetry as a greeting, expressing their deep respect for the guests' visit. The students' cheerful, fresh, and sincere recitation was unanimously praised by the guests.
Chairman Yang Wen Cheng delivered the welcome address on behalf of Kutien Chinese School, thanking Ambassador Xiao for taking time to visit and for donating to the school's operating fund.
Chairman Yang stated that the Chinese Embassy's attention and support for Chinese education not only highlight the ambassador's strong support for the school's development, but also inject sustainable momentum into the cause of Chinese language education. On behalf of the school, he expressed sincere gratitude to His Excellency and affirmed their commitment to the educational philosophy of "passing on culture and enlightening wisdom," striving to advance Chinese education to new milestones.
In his speech, Ambassador Xiao expressed his gratitude for the school's warm hospitality, affirmed the school's efforts and achievements, encouraged the board, faculty, and students to keep up the good work, and wished the school even greater success in its future development. Ambassador Xiao thereafter wrote an encouraging message in the school's guestbook.
The school board and His Excellency enjoyed tea and a cordial exchange. Later, Ambassador Xiao presented the operating fund to the school, received by Chairman Yang Wen Cheng, who in turn presented a certificate of appreciation to the Ambassador on behalf of the school. Afterwards, led by Chairman Yang and Principal Tao Mei Hua, the ambassador and his party toured the campus and observed a third grade Chinese language lesson. The lively and charming children immediately interacted with Ambassador Xiao by playing a riddle game, creating a heartwarming and joyful atmosphere.
Next, everyone moved to the school's multi-purpose hall "Zhi Yuan Hall" to participate in the much-anticipated badminton friendship match. After some warmup exercises, Ambassador Xiao and Chairman Yang led the opening match to kick off the competition. This was followed by games between school directors, teachers, and embassy staff as partners; the rallies went back and forth, with smashes, clears, and drop shots on display, accompanied by constant cheers and applause from the sidelines, creating a relaxed and happy ambiance. Ambassador Xiao, the board, and teachers also tried their hand at the school's newly established pickleball activity; although everyone was still beginners, they looked forward to becoming more skilled in the future and enjoying the fun of this emerging sport.
Finally, everyone gathered for a group photo in cheerful spirits, creating a beautiful memory of this visit.
