Igan Community Sports Complex Expected to Be Completed in September

(Igan, 6th) — Residents of Igan Subdistrict will soon welcome a brand-new sports and recreation facility, as a community sports and leisure complex is currently under construction to offer residents more space for exercise and relaxation.
The construction of this complex will further improve existing village-level facilities, especially now that the community hall has already been put into use as a center for resident activities and gatherings, thus making the overall public amenities more complete.

Datuk Dr. Juanda Jaya, Deputy Minister of the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman Affairs), stated that after confirming the project location, perimeter fencing and barricading works have commenced as the first phase of preliminary tasks.
He said, “Once the project site is officially handed over to the contractor, the fencing works will begin soon.”
Juanda made these remarks at the handover ceremony of the Igan Community Sports and Leisure Complex construction site yesterday, delivering a speech at the event.
He is also the State Assemblyman for Jemoreng (ADUN Jemoreng), and he hopes that the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and local residents will give their full cooperation to ensure the smooth progress of the project.
He pointed out that the construction period for the project is expected to continue until September this year.

“We hope the contractor can complete the works ahead of schedule, and the relevant approval procedures and institutional support will be expedited. However, the construction must still follow the established timeline and be completed on time,” he added.
At the same time, he also expressed hope that the Igan Community Sports and Leisure Complex can be completed as planned, bringing substantial and long-term benefits to local residents.
