Regular and Intensive Operations of ASEAN-to-China Cross-Border Fruit Cold Chain Trains

On the 18th, a cold chain train loaded with Southeast Asian fresh fruit such as Thai durians and Vietnamese coconuts arrived at the Nanning International Railway Port in Guangxi, marking a new stage in the regularized operation of ASEAN cross-border fruit cold chain trains.

According to China Railway Nanning Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Railway Nanning Group"), the regular operation of cross-border fruit cold chain trains is implemented in response to the continuously growing transportation demands from cargo owners. With the increasing brand influence of the "Dong Dang–Pingxiang–Nanning" fruit train, more and more shippers are choosing to transport ASEAN fruit via these railway cold chain trains. China Railway Nanning Group arranges trains flexibly according to customer demand and has now achieved routine operations, running 1 to 6 trains daily depending on the supply of cargo.

From January to May this year, a total of 1,666 TEUs of fruit entered China through the Pingxiang Railway Port, a year-on-year increase of 48%. According to cargo demand, the operating frequency of regular ASEAN cross-border fruit cold chain trains has visibly increased, with up to 6 trains a day. The fastest customs clearance for fruit can be completed in 2 hours, and the maximum daily inbound transport capacity reaches 240 TEUs. Currently, after ASEAN fruit enters China via Pingxiang, mainline railway transport enables same-day delivery of cross-border fresh fruit.
