(India 13th) New Delhi Television (NDTV) reported that the crashed Indian Airways plane hit a medical college student dormitory, resulting in at least 5 deaths and nearly 40 injuries in the dormitory.
Among the 5 deceased, 4 were university students and one was a graduate student. Footage shot inside the dormitory shows a large hole in the wall caused by the crash, with plates of unfinished food on tables in the dining hall, indicating that students were having lunch when the incident occurred.
An eyewitness told Agence France-Presse: 'Our office is near the building hit by the plane. We saw people jumping from the second and third floors of the building to save themselves. The plane was on fire. We helped people escape the building and took the injured to the hospital.'
