(Bandar Seri Begawan, 24th) The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November 2025 fell by 0.1% compared to November 2024, mainly due to a 0.2% decrease in the non-food price index.
Meanwhile, the food and non-alcoholic beverage price index rose by 0.4%.
The decline in the non-food price index was mainly attributed to decreases in prices of miscellaneous goods and services (down 1.0%), especially insurance prices; clothing and footwear prices (down 2.0%); and recreation and cultural service prices (down 1.1%), particularly vacation packages.
The increase in the food and non-alcoholic beverage price index was mainly due to a rise in fruit prices (up 4.8%), especially fresh non-tropical fruits; fish and seafood prices (up 3.0%), especially fresh fish; and coffee, tea, and cocoa prices (up 4.4%).
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November 2025 increased by 0.1% compared to the previous month, higher than the level in October 2025.
This was mainly driven by a 0.2% increase in the non-food price index, while the food and non-alcoholic beverage price index fell by 0.1%.
The increase in the non-food price index was mainly due to price hikes in clothing and footwear (up 1.7%), transport (up 0.1%), and recreation and culture (up 0.4%).
Meanwhile, the decrease in the food and non-alcoholic beverage price index was mainly attributed to drops in vegetable prices (down 1.0%), meat prices (down 0.3%), and coffee, tea, and cocoa prices (down 0.2%).
