Taiwanese actor Kai Ko has always drawn attention for his romantic life ever since his debut. Besides rumored relationships with Amber An and Qun Qun, his well-known past romances include Elva Hsiao and Bea Hayden. In a 2024 interview, Ko claimed he had been single for six years and was open to starting a new relationship. Unexpectedly, it was at his birthday party the same year that he was suspected to have made a connection with Taiwanese (G)I-DLE member Shuhua. Now, more than a year later, rumors are spreading that Ko’s mother has praised Shuhua highly.
According to Mirror Weekly, Shuhua attended Ko’s 2024 birthday party, where other celebrities including Matilda Tao, Alyssa Chia, Yang Ming-wei, and Fann Wong were also present. About a month after their group photo surfaced, Shuhua wrote “Hey～I love you” on Instagram, to which Ko immediately responded with three emojis. This sparked backlash from some fans and started rumors that the two are secretly dating. Recently, there have even been reports that while filming a movie in Taiwan, Shuhua was spotted frequently visiting Ko’s home, though they supposedly have to be cautious due to K-pop group management rules and fan pressure.
Additionally, rumors suggest that Ko’s mother has spoken about Shuhua at family gatherings, praising her for being generous and well-mannered, and seeming quite pleased with her. This has also hinted that Shuhua is gradually integrating into Ko’s family. However, in response to these rumors about their secret relationship, Ko’s agent told Mirror Weekly: “The company hasn’t heard of this and can’t respond to unfounded reports, thank you!”
