Go For It! Youth Launches Recruitment: Firdhaus Leads a Youth Adventure

Produced by 8TV, Malaysia’s first youth growth reality show "Go For It! Youth" invites Malay singer-songwriter Firdhaus to take on the role of 'Youth Navigator', leading a new generation of teenagers on a passionate and challenging adventure.

At the press conference, Firdhaus shared his story of collaborating with 8TV. He said that after going through a low period in his life last year and feeling stuck, he decided to step out of his comfort zone and went to Africa as a children’s volunteer. He was deeply touched by the children's enthusiasm there, which helped him rediscover his own happiness and value. This experience inspired him to create "Go For It! Youth", hoping the show could accompany youths during this important stage of growth while also discovering a new generation talented and possessing good character.
As the 'Youth Navigator', Firdhaus will lead the new generation on a passionate and challenging adventure in the show.
He recalled that when he was 18 or 19 and had just graduated, he worked at a marketplace but would volunteer at nursing homes and orphanages with a group of friends every weekend. He has always hoped to establish a foundation to help those in need. “I always felt that I am not especially kind by nature, so I need to remind myself to do meaningful things.”
Firdhaus, looking back at footage from his own youth at 16 (left), hides in embarrassment.
Speaking about his connection with 8TV, Firdhaus revealed that back at age 16, he participated in "Shine On, Young Singers" Season 2 in 2014 and made it into the top 24. When he reviewed footage from the competition in his youth, he laughed and said, “At that time, my eyes really sparkled. I hope I can find that light again now.”

Generously Responding and Supporting Dayang

In addition, he graciously responded to attending his ex-girlfriend Dior Dayang's concert in Singapore. Previously, Dayang had come to Penang to support him. He said: “Supporting each other is great, isn't it? There's nothing to it. (Are you two even now?) There was never anything to begin with. After watching her concert, I found it was excellent and am very happy she is now touring around the world.” He also confessed that they will continue to support each other's concerts in the future.

Firdhaus also revealed that he will be releasing a new single "The Earth is Flat" on the 15th, and has invited Wang Sihan, runner-up of "Shine On, Young Singers" Season 2, to be the MV director, once again collaborating with Chen Ziying. Serving as the MV male lead for the first time, he confidently said his performance could score 80 points. He also joked that his performance was even better than his previous role as a deliveryman in "Perhaps This is the Last Song I Write for You", and he welcomes everyone to see whether he has movie star potential.

"Go For It! Youth" is specially designed for teenagers aged 15 to 18. Unlike ordinary competitive talent shows, this show has no elimination system and is not competition-oriented. Instead, through a series of tasks and training, it documents how the youths break out of their comfort zones, face pressure and complete challenges within a limited time—showcasing their potential and resilience in music, dance, and sports.

8TV program director Huang Yuli said that in today's rapidly changing media landscape, television is not just an entertainment platform but also bears the important responsibility of accompanying and guiding the younger generation's growth. It is hoped that "Go For It! Youth" can provide Malaysian youth with a stage to authentically express themselves and courageously pursue their dreams. Besides Firdhaus, the show also gathers young faces, including Cai Jingxuan, Rong Zhiqian, and Guan Jiehao as 'Junior Youth Leaders', who will stand shoulder to shoulder with the participants.

At present, "Go For It! Youth" has issued a call for recruitment to youths across Malaysia. The recruitment is open in three main categories—dancers skilled in street dance, singers with unique personalities and creative abilities, and cheerleading elites who are brave enough to take on high-difficulty moves. Any teens aged 15 to 18 who are bold in self-expression are welcome to sign up for a chance to join the show. For more information, follow 8TV’s official social media platforms.
