Irish singer Glen Hansard, who starred in the 2007 musical film ‘Once’, tragically passed away today (29th) in a motorcycle accident in Dublin, Ireland, at the age of 56. Police are currently appealing to witnesses to provide any information.
In ‘Once,’ Glen played a struggling musician and was responsible for composing and performing the film’s songs. Among them, ‘Falling Slowly,’ co-written and sung with his female co-star Marketa Irglova, won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. The film was later adapted into a Broadway musical, sweeping 8 Tony Awards and becoming a legendary milestone in musical film history. Glen and Marketa developed a real-life romance during the production, lasting for two years. Glen later married poet Maire Saaritsa, and their son was born in 2022.
