Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's statement on 'Taiwan contingency' continues to ferment. On the 17th, the Japanese Embassy in China issued 'safety measures' to Japanese citizens within China, stating that in light of recent 'Chinese media reports regarding Japan-China relations,' it reminds Japanese citizens to be extra vigilant when going out in China, pay attention to any suspicious individuals in their surroundings, and travel in groups to ensure their own safety.

According to a Central News Agency report, this 'safety measure,' which was issued in Japanese, states that in light of recent 'Chinese media reports regarding Japan-China relations,' the embassy is specially providing additional safety notes to Japanese citizens residing in China.

The notice points out that Japanese citizens in China should make every effort to ensure their own safety, and try to travel in groups. If taking children out, particular caution is needed.

This 'safety measure' also reminds Japanese citizens in China to respect local customs and pay attention to their words and actions when communicating with locals; remain aware of their surroundings, avoid crowded public places and areas frequently visited by other Japanese as much as possible; and if any suspicious individuals or groups are found, do not approach and leave immediately.

This measure also attaches an electronic 'safety guide' and emergency contact information for the Japanese Embassy in China, and emphasizes that services will be provided even outside office hours and on holidays.

China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism publicly reminded Chinese citizens on the 14th and 16th respectively to avoid traveling to Japan recently, and urged Chinese citizens already in Japan to pay attention to safety. The Chinese Foreign Ministry also declared, 'Since the beginning of this year, public security in Japanese society has been unstable, with frequent criminal cases against Chinese citizens and multiple incidents of Chinese citizens being attacked in Japan, some of which are still unsolved. The safety environment for Chinese citizens in Japan continues to deteriorate.'
