(Bandar Seri Begawan, 29th) The JKG Brunei team donated basic food supplies to 20 underprivileged families.
These families are all members of the Majlis Kesejahteraan Masyarakat (MKM), with JKG handing over the supplies last Saturday at the MKM office located at Balai Ka Anggrek Desa.
This initiative, led by Jeslyn Khoo, benefited 20 disadvantaged families.
MKM's First Deputy Chairman, Mohd Laini, stated in his welcoming speech that this event was not just a community gathering, but also aimed at genuinely improving the lives of vulnerable groups.
He quoted a proverb: "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted," emphasizing that every contribution, regardless of size, has the power to change the lives of others. He called on the community to build a stronger and more caring society where everyone can receive help.
He expressed his appreciation for this donation, noting that it reflects the ongoing support from all walks of life for the council's efforts in safeguarding the wellbeing of the nation's vulnerable groups.
He further pointed out that cooperative efforts play an important role in strengthening the nation's culture of caring and mutual assistance.
This donation demonstrates the team's commitment to making a positive impact and inspiring more people to participate in building a compassionate and empathetic society. The distribution of food aid is also part of the team's ongoing efforts to support underprivileged families in Brunei Darussalam.
