Starring BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, the Netflix Korean romantic comedy series ‘Influenza’ (also known as ‘My Subscription Boyfriend’) will premiere on Netflix on March 6. Yesterday (the 19th), the official trailer was released, showing Jisoo surrounded by a lineup of nine handsome male leads including Seo In Guk, Lee Soo Hyuk, and Seo Kang Joon. ‘My Subscription Boyfriend’ tells the story of webtoon producer Seo Mirae (played by Jisoo), who is overwhelmed by her repetitive daily work. She escapes reality through a “Virtual Boyfriend Subscription Service,” experiencing her dream of perfect dates. “Subscription Boyfriend” is not only the title of the show, but also the name of the in-series service, which customizes fantasy scenarios tailored to each user’s ideal type. Set within the familiar office routine, the series uses the concept of “virtual boyfriends” to explore, in a lighthearted and relatable way, the gap between perfect fantasy and imperfect reality.
‘My Subscription Boyfriend’ boasts a star-studded “virtual boyfriend” cast, including Seo Kang Joon, Lee Soo Hyuk, Ong Seong Wu, Lee Jae Wook, Lee Hyun Wook, Jay Park (Park Jae Bum), Kim Young Dae, and special guest appearance by Lee Sang Yi, each bringing their own unique romantic style into Mirae’s subscription boyfriend life.
