(Bandar Seri Begawan, 8th) In order to advance the construction of the power supply facility for the Tunggu Ling Chinese Cemetery crematorium, the Brunei Chinese Charity Association Council recently joined members of the Mashi Chinese Charity Association Council in visiting the Tunggu Ling Chinese Cemetery to conduct an on-site inspection of the proposed substation location and land leveling works, in response to requirements from the Department of Electrical Services and relevant departments.
According to the Department of Electrical Services, the supply of electricity to the crematorium requires a clear and definite location for the substation. As decided during the Brunei Chinese Charity Association Council meeting, the council specially invited representatives from the Mashi Chinese Charity Association to jointly carry out a site survey.
On the day of the survey, representatives from both associations, referencing engineers’ blueprint plans, inspected the candidate plots within the cemetery area, comprehensively evaluating soil conditions, cable access paths, and the surrounding environment, and ultimately preliminarily identified the optimal site for the substation.
In addition to selecting the site for the substation, both parties also focused on inspecting the land leveling for the main crematorium building, gathering first-hand information on ground elevation and boundary range, and traced the planned cable routes to ensure smooth coordination between the pipeline installation and building layout in future stages.
Parties also exchanged views on power supply and during-construction plans to provide a basis for further refinement of the project design.
The council members present at this site inspection included Sun Shengli, Lin Pengguo, Li Chunjin, Shen Renxiang, Huang Shouhan, Chen Hongyuan, Huang Linming, Shen Qiuxiang, Liu Zhixin, Zheng Bingguang, He Rongyu, as well as Gu Fanglong (Andrew), Xu Zhongyong and other management personnel.
The engineering team will promptly compile the field inspection minutes and substation location data, and, in accordance with procedures, submit them to the Department of Electrical Services and relevant regulatory authorities, so as to expedite the application approval process and ensure the crematorium project is completed and put into operation on schedule, serving the community’s long-term needs.
