Hong Kong rock band Beyond’s lead singer Wong Ka Kui tragically passed away after accidentally falling from a stage while recording a program in Japan in 1993. June 30 marks the 32nd anniversary of his death, and band member and guitarist Paul Wong posted a tribute, saying, “Your photos are getting blurrier and blurrier, but my impression of you just gets deeper and deeper,” expressing the deep brotherly bond between them.
Paul Wong posted on social media in remembrance, “Ka Kui, it’s been 32 years since we parted. Your photos are getting blurrier and blurrier, but my impression of you just gets deeper and deeper, even feels like you’re getting closer and closer.” He recalled that when the two of them used to play music together, they would hug each other, “That feeling was really great.”
He continued, “Being brothers is only for this life and not the next, but you know what? I still regard you as my imaginary rival, hahaha, you have to take good care of yourself.”
Fans responded in the comments, “Though he left early, his youth never grows old,” “He is already as free as the sea and sky, has traveled thousands of miles, and entered the hearts of people all over the world,” “We will never forget Ka Kui’s brilliant smile,” “Really envy you for having such a friend you could compete and grow together with.”
