A scandal involving students spreading synthetic pornographic photos for profit erupted at Kuanchung Kulai Branch, and the Kuanchung Board of Directors has confirmed that a sophomore student has been expelled.

The Kuanchung High School Board of Directors announced on Thursday that the school has met with the parents of the involved student and formally informed the student that they will be expelled according to school regulations, contrary to rumors that the student would only receive two minor demerits.

The board stated that although the sophomore student had no prior violations, this behavior has violated school regulations.

"The school has met with the parents and formally informed the student that they will be expelled according to school regulations."

The statement emphasized that aside from the student involved, the school will continue to fully cooperate with the police investigation concerning the anonymous online account "Li Xiaobai" that has been harassing numerous alumni and spreading synthetic pornographic photos.

The Board also urges Deputy Minister of Communications Zhang Nianqun, who received complaints from multiple alumni on March 27, to quickly assist in uncovering the true culprit through the Communications and Multimedia Commission.

The statement noted that the board continues to work closely with the administration of three schools to continuously improve procedures for handling any incidents.

"The school will conduct campus network security and legal education courses, promote activities on the themes of sex education and anti-violence, enhance education on the use of media on the internet, and publicize while fostering a campus culture of mutual respect."

Earlier, social media circulated reports that female students at Kuanchung High School Kulai Branch were victimized by male classmates who used deepfake technology to create and spread pornographic images in Telegram chat rooms for profit. The victims were not only current students but also female alumni, triggering widespread online discussions.

The school clarified that no direct reports were received from students, and no disciplinary action had been taken against any student. It emphasized that the school took the matter seriously and began investigating immediately, while confirming that a female alumna lodged a police report regarding the synthetic pornographic photo incident.

Meanwhile, Johor Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Kuma confirmed that as of Wednesday, the police have received eight reports, believed to be by the same perpetrator. On Tuesday (8th), a 16-year-old boy was arrested and remanded for four days to assist police investigations.
