During the China International Import Expo, the 8th Singapore-China Trade and Investment Forum was held in Shanghai on the 6th. During the forum, a total of 16 memoranda of cooperation were signed, with a total value of approximately 92.77 million RMB (54.49 million SGD).

According to a report by Lianhe Zaobao and a statement from the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), the memoranda of cooperation include 15 agreements between enterprises and one strategic agreement between the SBF and the Bank of China Singapore Branch, covering fields such as cross-border trade, medical innovation, educational cooperation, and green consumer goods.

Among them, Singapore’s cross-border human resources platform Slasify signed a memorandum of understanding with China's Bafang Jincheng Human Resources Co., Ltd. Through cooperation in employment compliance review and talent verification mechanisms, both parties aim to promote the flow of professional talents between China and ASEAN markets.

Singapore Edga Education Technology and Rongchuang Feifan (Beijing) Education Technology Company signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly establish the “International Internship and Employment Alliance,” planning to connect 100 to 150 Singaporean companies with 500 Chinese students annually to help Singaporean companies acquire international talent and provide Chinese students with overseas career opportunities.

The forum was organized by the Singapore Business Federation, with this year’s theme being “Singapore-China Synergy, Foreseeing the Future.” Singapore Ambassador to China, Peter Tan, attended the forum and delivered the opening speech.

This year, the Singapore Business Federation also organized 57 Singaporean companies to participate in the CIIE.

In his speech at the forum, Singapore Business Federation Chairman Lim Chong Sheng said: “We encourage Singaporean and Chinese enterprises to work together to explore third-party markets, especially to seize development opportunities in the Southeast Asian region... We believe that as relations between the two countries continue to deepen and strengthen, more high-quality and emerging areas of cooperation opportunities will continue to emerge.”
