A recent incident of disorderly conduct involving foreign tourists broke out at Thailand’s well-known tourist destination, Koh Phangan. An Israeli couple was caught engaging in sexual activity in public near the famous Wang Sai Thong Waterfall. The act was filmed and quickly spread online, leading to their swift arrest by the police.
The couple, both aged 39, had their behavior recorded, and the video rapidly went viral on social media.
Police went to the hotel to arrest the couple and brought them to the island’s immigration office for questioning. Police stated that the couple admitted to being the people in the video and confirmed that they indeed engaged in sexual acts in a public place. Such actions not only violate Thai law but also seriously offend local culture and public morals. The couple have been transferred to the police station on charges of 'public obscenity' and will face further legal consequences.
