Tan Sri Wu Tianquan, President of Huazong, disclosed that following the successful Huazong extraordinary general meeting, the "Huazong-Carlsberg Education Fund Scholarship" will continue to distribute 1 million ringgit to university students from low-income families in the country in April this year. There has been a high volume of applications and inquiries received.

He said that this is the third time Huazong is distributing this 3,000 ringgit per person non-repayable scholarship program. He hopes that those who meet the conditions and are interested will seize the opportunity to apply promptly; the application deadline is March 11 (late submissions will not be accepted).

Wu Tianquan, who is also the chairman of the Huazong Education General Fund Committee, stated in a press release on Thursday, that Huazong had distributed 1 million ringgit in 2021 and 2024, with 333 students benefiting each year, each receiving 3,000 ringgit from this scholarship. Feedback from Huazong and various state Chinese assemblies shows that the program has received a positive response nationwide, with a high number of applicants and a supply shortfall.

He said the Huazong extraordinary general meeting approved the proposal to continue this year's distribution on the 9th of this month, with applications officially open on the 10th and ending on March 11. The list of recipients is expected to be announced on April 16, with a unified awarding ceremony on April 26.

Each state's Chinese assembly will evaluate and review the scholarship from March 12 to March 25, while the Huazong-Carlsberg Education Fund Committee will conduct the final review from March 26 to April 12. Huazong's final review meeting will be on April 14, and the selected list will be announced on April 16, with the scholarship awarding date on April 26.

The list of beneficiaries will be announced in various media, Huazong's official website, and Facebook page.

According to the application guidelines released by Huazong, applicants must be Malaysian citizens enrolled in local academies or universities; however, students from teacher training institutions, master's, or doctoral studies will not be considered. Application conditions include being from single-parent families, with both parents unemployed, orphans, low-income groups (B40), or having parents or guardians with disabilities.

For detailed application procedures, please visit the Huazong Education Fund official website (please log in to the Huazong website www.dama-huazong.com for details and information). Applicants must carefully read the guidelines and prepare the necessary documents. Incomplete submissions will lead to disqualification.

Beneficiaries must comply with the notifications from the state Chinese assemblies or Huazong to attend the award ceremony and receive the scholarship in person.
