(Miri, 15th) Miri St. Joseph Primary School Parent-Teacher Association recently held a members meeting at the school.
Miri MP Chiew Choon Man stated during his speech at the meeting that member meetings are very important because they provide a space for all of us (school administrators, teachers, and parents) to discuss and exchange opinions to promote the education of our children.
He said, I am delighted to see the dedication of the Parent-Teacher Association, which has led to the success of various plans and activities. The large turnout of parents today is also a great encouragement to the school. The strong support and active participation of parents are crucial for our children's excellence in both academics and personal development. This ensures that all efforts initiated at the school level can continue and be completed when students return to their respective homes.
“As the MP of Miri, I am committed to supporting all efforts to ensure the comfort and safety of the school's students. At the end of last year and the beginning of this year, I was informed about the issue of leaking roofs in the school canteen and several other areas. To prevent the situation from escalating and affecting the school's learning process, I promptly helped resolve the leaking issue. Similarly, to ensure comfort and safety for students during their commute to and from school, I also obtained funding through the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) to construct roofs outside the school gates.”
He also said, I will do my utmost to continue assisting St. Joseph Primary School in obtaining the necessary funding and support to benefit the school community. We all know that a good and safe learning environment is a crucial foundation for creating an engaging learning atmosphere and enhancing students' learning enthusiasm.
“I believe that close cooperation between the school, the Parent-Teacher Association, and the local community needs to be strengthened to ensure the well-being of students. Through such collaborative efforts, we can achieve both short-term and long-term goals, ensuring that the school's infrastructure is always in optimal condition, thereby improving the image and educational quality of St. Joseph Miri.”
