The Iranian military has warned that during any conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel, all hotels in the Middle East region that host US troops will be considered Iranian targets.
Iranian Armed Forces spokesperson Shekarchi told state television: “When all American personnel (troops) enter a hotel, to us that hotel becomes an American (base).”
He said: “Should we just sit back and watch while the US military attacks us? When we respond, of course we will target any place they are present.”
Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi also stated on social media that US troops stationed in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are using local civilians as ‘human shields’.
He said that since the outbreak of war, US troops have fled US military bases in GCC member states and have instead taken refuge in hotels and office locations.
He urged hotels in the region to refuse accommodation to US military personnel.
Iran’s Fars News Agency cited anonymous sources as reporting that Iran has issued strict warnings to hotels in the region, especially hotels in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
The report said that the Iranian military has identified similar US troop activity in locations such as Syria, Lebanon, and Djibouti.
Urges Middle Eastern Civilians to “Immediately Evacuate Areas with US Troop Presence”
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard issued the “Real Commitment－4” Announcement No. 48, urging civilians across Middle Eastern countries to “immediately evacuate areas with US troop presence.”
The announcement stated that the US and Israel, lacking “courage and capability” to defend their own military bases, are attempting to use innocent civilians as “human shields.”
The announcement pointed out that Iran has a responsibility to eliminate US and Israeli forces, regardless of their location.
The announcement advised people to leave deployment areas of US troops immediately to avoid harm.
