U.S. Middle East Envoy Wittegove on the 26th denied that Hamas has accepted the Gaza ceasefire plan he proposed.
He told Axios News that he is "disappointed" that Hamas has not accepted the ceasefire plan proposed by the U.S.
Meanwhile, Wittegove pointed out to CNN that the plan is already on the table and that Hamas should accept it.
He stated that Israel would agree to this plan.
According to the plan, Hamas would hand over half of the still-living hostages and half of the bodies to Israel, and both parties would begin substantive negotiations to seek a permanent ceasefire. Wittegove will host the negotiations.
Previously, an anonymous Hamas official stated that Hamas had agreed to the Gaza ceasefire plan proposed by U.S. Middle East Envoy Wittegove.
The official said that the U.S.-proposed ceasefire plan includes the release of 10 still-living hostages in exchange for a 60-day temporary ceasefire, providing conditions for discussing the prospects of a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
