(Miri, 9th) “MZH Shines at 80,” is not just a theme, but a testament to 80 years of Miri Chung Hua Public School’s nurturing, with its countless outstanding students.

Last night at the opening ceremony of the “MZH Shines at 80” cultural gala held in the Miri Indoor Stadium, Principal Chan Yongjia said that tonight’s stage is not only a display of students’ diverse talents, but also a tribute to the spirit and legacy of MZH.

She pointed out that such a grand performance is backed by the tireless dedication of countless individuals. She first extended special thanks to the main event planner, Teacher Yip Yuk Ling, and her organizing team, and said that it is because of their careful planning and hard work day and night that this remarkable event was able to happen.

“From conceptualizing the theme, arranging the program, to presenting the show, every step has been filled with your wisdom and sweat—the starting point of all the beautiful moments tonight.”
Sarawak Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin officiated the opening ceremony for the panel drama and cultural gala 'MZH Shines at 80'.

Principal Chan also sincerely thanked all the teachers in charge of directing programs and the enthusiastic alumni assisting. She said that even with their busy teaching schedules, these teachers still sacrificed their personal time to meticulously arrange and guide the students’ performances, making every wonderful moment tonight a result of their selfless dedication.

She also offered her deepest respect and gratitude to the parents, noting that the success of the children is inseparable from the parents’ full support and cooperation. “Thank you to the parents for sending and picking up the children rain or shine for rehearsals, and for being the school’s strongest backup.”

In addition, she gave special mention to the team of teachers working diligently behind the scenes, including those responsible for lighting, sound, props, stage management, and order. She said that their professionalism and hard work ensured the smooth running of the event, making them the most praiseworthy heroes behind the scenes tonight.

Principal Chan also thanked all the guests and audience members who attended the gala, for their enthusiastic support and eager ticket purchases, filling up the stadium with their presence. “Your attendance not only affirms the children’s hard-earned achievements, but also gives the greatest encouragement to MZH’s educational philosophy over the past 80 years.”

She also thanked Xiangcun Audio Company for providing high-quality stage and lighting-sound equipment, making the whole performance even more dazzling.
