(Kuching/Beijing, 9th) The Malaysian Sarawak Education and Culture Delegation has entered the third day of its visit to China, arriving at one of China's top universities—Peking University—for a far-reaching exchange in education and culture.

In the morning, the delegation arrived at Peking University, where they received a warm welcome from the university officials and toured the campus, renowned for its long history and picturesque scenery. Members of the delegation strolled along the Weiming Lake, gazed up at the Boya Pagoda, and deeply felt the profound cultural heritage and strong scholarly atmosphere that has accumulated over the university’s 120-year history. Many delegation members expressed admiration for the cultural ambience of Peking University, stating that to personally step into an institution that has nurtured countless scholars and leaders was a true honor.

During a symposium held at Peking University, Dato’ Huang Guohui spoke highly of the university’s educational achievements and put forward three specific proposals for cooperation, including:
Promoting a system of academic and faculty exchange to facilitate the sharing of teaching experiences and research outcomes between the two regions; encouraging future Peking University delegations to visit Sarawak to strengthen youth cultural and academic exchange and deepen people-to-people ties between Malaysia and China.

Dato’ Huang Guohui pointed out that the regions of Sarawak and Sabah have vast land, large populations, and rich cultural diversity, and are home to many talented youth. If Peking University could authorize the establishment of a student recruitment recommendation base, it would open up broader educational opportunities for students from East Malaysia and create new opportunities for the university to expand its international recruitment network in Southeast Asia.

This symposium was also strongly supported by the Beijing Overseas Chinese Federation Malaysia Returned Overseas Chinese Association and the Peking University Overseas Chinese Federation.

Attendees included President of the Malaysian Overseas Chinese Federation, Vice Chairman of Peking University Health Science Center Overseas Chinese Federation and Professor of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences Huang Heqing, Federation Director and Vice Chairman of Peking University Overseas Chinese Federation Jiang Lan, Federation Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Liu Hua, Chief Supervisor Wang Yuhong, Executive Director Zhong Huimin, and member Li Jinpeng.

The leadership and representatives present from Peking University included Associate Dean of the School of Chinese as a Second Language Lu Yun, and Zhang Hechuan, representative from the Office of International Students.

Both sides agreed during the exchanges that education is the most enduring bond of cooperation between nations, and that cooperation in areas such as student recommendation, scholarship systems, faculty exchanges, and youth camp exchanges should continue to be deepened.

After the symposium, the delegation was hosted at a banquet by Professor Huang Heqing. The atmosphere at the banquet was harmonious and lively, with both sides discussing the promising prospects of Malaysia-China education cooperation and engaging in in-depth discussion on how to further encourage overseas Chinese communities to participate in youth education exchanges.

In the afternoon, delegation members visited Beijing Hopson One Shopping Mall to experience the modern urban style of Beijing, unwind, and add a touch of relaxation to their tight itinerary.

As night fell, the lights of Beijing reflected the satisfaction and sense of reflection on the faces of the delegation members. Dato’ Huang Guohui remarked: “The cause of education must be pursued with heart, with action, and with perseverance. Only by devoting our heart, taking real action, can we truly see the results and see hope.”

He thanked various organizations, schools, and overseas Chinese federations in China for their warm arrangements, emphasizing that this visit was not only a journey of learning, but also a continuation of friendship and mission.

“We will bring the inspiration and emotions gained at Peking University back to Sarawak, continue to devote ourselves to education, pave the way for our youth, and turn dreams into reality.”
