(Borneo Bulletin Bandar Seri Begawan, 22nd) The graduation ceremony for the Laksamana College of Business (LCB) Class of 2026 was recently held at the Garden Sentral Hotel, with a total of 526 graduates being recognized for their outstanding academic achievements.
This year, 102 graduates completed programs affiliated with the University of Essex, covering majors such as Accounting & Finance, Computer Science, International Tourism Management, Marketing, Business Management, and Law. Among them, 11 graduates were awarded First Class Honours degrees.
The graduation ceremony was honored by the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Amal Jeffriah, with Minister of Education Datin Romaizah serving as guest of honour.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Al-Fatihah (Opening Chapter of the Quran) and Doa Selamat (Prayer for Blessings), followed by addresses from Ian Pirie, Principal and Director of Laksamana College of Business and KCB, Ken O'Flaherty, Acting British High Commissioner to Brunei, and Professor Muhammad Demirbag, Vice Dean of Essex Business School, University of Essex.
Degrees were subsequently conferred to both degree and foundation programme graduates.
Graduates who achieved the highest distinction (Summa Cum Laude) in their degree programmes were also invited to deliver speeches, with a short recess observed during the ceremony.
In the final segment, certificates were presented to graduates from KCB, BTEC, and City & Guilds programmes, followed by speeches from recipients of the highest honour (Summa Cum Laude).
