Myanmar’s state media reported last night that detained Aung San Suu Kyi has been transferred to house arrest and will continue serving her sentence at a designated residence.
Since being ousted by a military coup in 2021, Aung San Suu Kyi has been held in custody and has not appeared in public since her trial concluded.
Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi has been imprisoned since her government was overthrown in the 2021 military coup. On the 29th, a member of Suu Kyi’s legal team said that the 33-year sentence imposed on her was further commuted by another sixth, marking the second sentence reduction in two weeks.
According to Myanmar state media reports on April 30, the place of detention for Aung San Suu Kyi will be changed, with the remainder of her sentence to be served at a designated residence.
