Nvidia and AMD Required to Remit 15% of Chip Revenue to US Government in Exchange for China Export Licenses

British media reports that US tech giants Nvidia and AMD will remit 15% of their chip revenue from China sales to the US government to ensure they receive licenses to export chips to the Chinese market.

On the 10th, the UK's Financial Times cited a US official stating that Nvidia will hand over 15% of revenue from its H20 chips sold to China to the US government; AMD will also remit an equal percentage of revenue derived from exports of its MI308 chips to China.

In response to inquiries, Nvidia stated that it will comply with US government export regulations, while AMD has not responded to requests for comment.

Last week, the Financial Times quoted US officials saying that the Bureau of Industry and Security under the US Department of Commerce, which regulates export controls, has already begun issuing licenses for H20 chips.
